Welcome to the Children’s Ministry at Toronto Chinese Methodist Church. A friendly and welcoming place where you will meet God and His children.
Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." (Matthew 19:16 NIV)
The nursery is available for families with new born babies under 18 months during both Worship services (9:30 – 10:45 & 11:15 – 12:45). One of the nurseries is equipped with its own bathroom and nursing area. It is located right next to the sanctuary. The second nursery is located on the Mezzanine level for the Mandarin congregation.
The focus of the Sunday school time is to help nurture our children in a deeper walk with Jesus so that they become mature followers of Christ. In Sunday school children spend time learning a Bible story, a memory verse, discuss the story, and pray for one another. We have a Sunday school class for Preschoolers (2 ½ – 5 years), Grades 1–2, Grades 3 – 4, at 9:30 – 10:45, and the Grades 5 – 6 and Grades 7 – 8 Sunday school at 11:30 – 12:30.
In the Children’s Worship time we strive to encourage and help our children encounter and meet God in a meaningful way through Worship each Sunday. Our Worship time includes: Worship in song, a Bible lesson, offering, and a small group time. We have Toddler Worship (19 months to under 2 ½ years), Preschool Worship (2 ½ – 5 years), Junior Worship (JK – SK), and Senior Worship (Grades 1 – 4) at 11:15 – 12:45 in the Children’s Ministry area in the basement.
The Worship service for Children in Grades 5 – 8 is from 9:30 – 10:45 and on the Mezzanine level of the Church. This Worship service is a special and relevant time of Worship. The service includes: Worship in Song, Scripture reading, offering, and a Bible lesson. The service concludes with a time of having refreshments together.
Come join us as we Worship God together.
Throughout the year with have several Children’s Ministry special events including: bowling, mini golf, watching Christian plays, and much more. These events are designed so that children can introduce their friends to the Church. Through these events the children also develop stronger friendships with one another and help them feel more at home on Sundays at Church.
One of the highlights of the Children’s Ministry is our annual summer camp. Our campers enjoy Bible lessons, songs, games, activities, field trips, and so much more! Watch for details in January regarding our next summer camp.
The Children’s Choir is a ministry where the children learn to praise God through Worship in song and help others do likewise. The Children’s Choir sings at several of our special services including: Father’s and Mother’s Day, our Anniversary service, Easter service, and Christmas service. The Children’s Choir is for Ages 4 – Grade 6 and practices on Sundays (excluding the first Sunday of each month) from 1:00 – 1:45 in the Children’s Ministry area in the basement.
